At the end of June, the Merlot vineyard underwent top-grafting to convert it into a Xarel\u00b7lo vineyard, which is expected to produce fruit by 2026. But what does top-grafting mean? By top-grafting with Xarel\u00b7lo, we return to an indigenous variety that is a hallmark of the winery\u2019s identity. Although Xarel\u00b7lo has traditionally been a low-altitude variety, at Loxarel we are committed to cultivating it at 750 meters above sea level on red soil.
